Ivan Curtis Young

Ivan Curtis Young, 83, of Satsuma, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at his residence following a brief illness.

Ivan was born in McArthur, Ohio and had lived in Satsuma for 42 years coming from Lancaster, OH. He was a retired electrician and had been a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He had worked as a truck driver in his earlier years and also had worked in a paper mill in Baltimore, OH. He was gifted in the field of auto mechanics, welding, and metal and steel fabrication. He loved toy electric trains. He was a Baptist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Edna Young; a brother, Eugene Young; a sister, Margarite Baker; two sons, Ivan Curtis Young, Jr. and Robert Mitchem Young.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Wanda Young of Satsuma; a son, the Reverend Scott Young and wife, Tammie of Middleburg; a daughter, Sandy Hamlett and husband, John of Jacksonville; a sister Linda Kennedy and husband, Zale of Lancaster, OH; four grandchildren and spouses, Bobbi and Ben Taylor, John Wesley and Bethany Hamlett, Rochelle Young, and Nolan Young; three great grandchildren, Jasmine Hamlett, Mia Hamlett, and Brandon Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Scott Young and Pastor Michael Clifford officiating. The family will begin receiving friends one hour prior to the service.
