George M. White, 70, of Port Orange and formerly of Palatka passed away Saturday, August 3, 2019 at his residence following an extended illness.

George was born and raised in Awendaw, South Carolina and had lived in Palatka from 1967 until 1980. He had been a resident of Port Orange for the past 39 years, coming from Palatka. He served honorably in the U.S. Army. He had done plastering work in Palatka and Central Florida for many years. He enjoyed going to Steinhatchee where he was an avid scalloper and enjoyed fishing. He was also an avid hunter and had hunted all over the Southeast USA. He enjoyed his leisure activities, working and spending time with his family.

Preceding him in death were a son, James Grayson White; his parents, Floyd and Helen White; his parents-in-law, Ervin and Violet Canada; and a sister-in-law, Pat Schultz.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Peggy Canada White of Port Orange; two sons and daughter-in-law, Greg M. and Christi White of Palatka, and Mickey White of Palatka; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Elbert and Frankie White of Ellijay, GA, James and Sarah White of Awendaw, SC, and Donald and Rosie White of Cordsville, SC; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and John Dunn of Awendaw, SC; a sister-in-law and spouse, Janice and Mike Tagariello of Hollister; five grandchildren and spouse, Ashton White, Haylee and Clint Coulliette, Hannah White, Tyler White and Gracie White; three step-grandchildren, Brooke Taylor, Jared Taylor and Ashley Ridenour; two great grandchildren, Greyson White and Carter Rose; four step-great grandchildren, Alexis Leong, Jayci Leong, Paige Leong, and Isaac Ridenour; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 7th at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka. Funeral services with military honors will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 8th at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with Pastor Mark Malcolm officiating.
