KENNETH W. SLAUGHTER
Kenneth W. Slaughter, 90, of Palatka passed away Friday, March 19, 2021 at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka following a brief illness.
Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Palatka. He served honorably in the United States Navy for four years. He owned and operated K & W Jet Way Grocery Store for fifteen years. He had also worked for the St. Johns River Water Management District for ten years, until his retirement in 1995. He was a member of Francis Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucille Slaughter; his wife of 54 years, Wareatha Manning Slaughter; a brother, Wendell Slaughter; and a sister, Kathy Harper.
Surviving are three sons, Larry Slaughter and his wife, Susanna of Texas, Greg Slaughter and his wife, Sandy of Palatka, and Mark Slaughter of Kentucky; eleven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Harlem with Pastor Rudy Howard officiating. Military honors will be bestowed by the U.S. Navy.
